Voltage Divider

This embedded project implements a simple circuit design that takes an analog output voltage and scales it down by a factor of two.

Project Overview

This project uses a simple voltage divider circuit to scale down an input analog voltage for safe measurement. An Arduino reads the divided signal through its ADC, continuously converting it into digital voltage values. The processed readings are then displayed in real time on an LED matrix for visual monitoring of the input voltage level.

Technical Overview

 Steps:

  1. A voltage divider circuit is built using two resistors to scale down an input analog voltage to a safe range for measurement.
  2. The divided voltage is fed into an analog input pin on an Arduino microcontroller.
  3. The Arduino continuously samples the analog signal using its onboard ADC and converts it into a digital voltage value.
  4. The program processes the measured voltage and maps it into a display-friendly format.
  5. The calculated voltage is sent to an LED matrix display connected to the Arduino.
  6. The LED matrix updates in real time to visually show the current voltage level.

Project Components

  • Arduino R4 microcontroller prototyping board
  • Breadboard
  • 2 10K ohm Resistors
