The Tribune Control System was a revolutionary new way to remotely control TV studio equipment over the Internet. With this new system, TV productions could easily be managed from a networked computer without needing to be onsite.
Numerous articles were written about this system in various broadcasting and information technology publications.
I wrote the following article for TV Technology.
The Tribune Control System took 3 years to develop and was written in C and Java with a deep knowledge of proprietary interface protocols from a variety of vendors.
This system is able to manage a variety of TV studio equipment including:

Pan/Tilt/Zoom Controllers
Video Switchers
Audio Switchers
Video Disk Recorders
Waveform Monitors
Emergency Alert Systems
