Here's the complete working prototype that includes the following hardware and software components:
Raspberry Pi Model B
Custom Python Server Program
FFmpeg for HLS streaming
Native Raspberry Pi RTPS Streaming
Adafruit PCA9685 Servo Driver
Breadboard for circuit design
2 Tower-Pro Servo motors
Pan/Tilt Assembly
GL-iNet Wireless Access Point
1000 mAh battery
I wrote a simple Apple iOS application that provides basic camera control and video streaming from the Raspberry Pi server.
Here's a close-up of the Raspberry Pi Model B and an Adafruit PCA9685 16-Channel Servo Driver. The Adafruit allows for 16 servo motors to be controlled from a single Raspberry Pi pin.
These are Tower Pro Micro Servo SG90 servo motors used to provide pan-tilt control for the Raspberry Pi camera. They're low-cost and not industrial strength, but are perfect for prototyping.
