I worked with hardware engineers to design a battery monitoring system that is commercially deployed across data centers and industrial facilities throughout the United States.

Large commercial battery backup systems are engineered power storage solutions designed to provide uninterrupted electrical power to critical facilities during utility outages, voltage disturbances, or peak demand events. These systems are commonly deployed in data centers, hospitals, telecommunications facilities, manufacturing plants, broadcast facilities, airports, and utility-scale energy installations.

Over the course of 10 years, working in conjunction with an electrical hardware engineer, I designed the software for a revolutionary web-based battery monitoring system that was commercially deployed in data centers and industrial sites around the United States.
This system featured the ability to monitor battery current, voltage and temperature and alert operators in the case of any alarm condition. An easy-to-use embedded website allowed for system configuration and continuous monitoring.
This system supported a variety of industry-standard interface protocols including SNMP, Modbus and SMTP for system management and alarm notifications. I have extensive experience designing SNMP Management Information Base (MIB) files and Modbus register tables.
This system continues to be sold commercially since its inception.
